She was a fine Englishwoman with arthritis and a wry sense of humour. She lived next door to John Christie, 10 Rillington Place, Notting Hill Gate. The Welshman Timothy Evans was hanged for the murders that Christie committed, including Evans own wife. He was 24 and received a posthumous pardon from the Queen. Christie was a date rapist and killer.
